It’s not only a triathlon in a fantastic area, this time you can follow 20 pro triathletes racing for the WIN, and four Formula 1 pilots exchanging their racing overalls for TriStar111 Monaco, as well as. Jenson Button, Bruno Senna, Lucas Di Grassi, and Alexander Wurz racing this Sunday – swimming, cycling and running. TriStar111 Monaco over 1km of swimming, 100km of cycling and 10km of running becomes a popular pastime for Formula 1 drivers on their free weekend.

Aussichten 2011: Wir stellen unsere LIVE Server auf eine skalierbare Server Infrastruktur um. Die Projekt-Arbeiten haben schon vor einigen Wochen begonnen, die Umstellung erfolgt noch dieses Jahr, so dass wir danach keine Engpässe mehr haben werden.

TORTOUR is the first non-stop-bike-race in Switzerland lasting several days. The event combines the best ideas of all existing long distance races. TORTOUR is designed for professionals and amateurs, teams and solo bikers. The race is the ultimate challenge for racers and the supporting team. TORTOUR starts in Neuhausen and goes over 1000 km (and about 15000 meters of altitude difference!) around Switzerland.
The finish line is at the Rhine Falls in Neuhausen (close to Schaffhausen).

To view the athletes and their data, all you need is an internet browser and the Google Earth Plug-in. Below in the map you can then select multiple athletes, either with the “Position” and/or the “Track”. On the right of the map you can select one athlete, to view his actual values. By selecting “Follow on map”, the Google Earth map will follow this athlete automatically, every time a update is available.
View the new video of athlosoft’s real time data telemetry at the Tour de Suisse 2010. We transmitted the data of the riders in real time to the Swiss TV station which displayed it in their live TV broadcast signal.
At the 5th stage of the Tour de Suisse fans worldwide were able to track stage winner Marcus Burhgardt from Germany live. The 26-year-old from BMC Racing Team was equipped with the system of the Swiss company athlosoft. His data, cadence, gear, speed, heart rate, altitude and calorie consumption, were available real-time on www.athlosoft.com/tds in a Google Earth animation. In addition, the data was also prepared and used for live transmission to Swiss television.
Burghardts teammate George Hincapie (USA) and Fabian Cancellara (Switzerland) from the Saxo Bank Team, were also equipped with athlosoft. They had the wattage of their PowerMeter cranks transmitted via internet and television in addition to the regular data. „This is a really good thing for my fans. I cycle the Tour de Suisse here and all my fans in the USA can track me live thanks to athlosoft“, explains the 36-year-old Hincapie.
Under the direction of Hans Limacher and Thomas Glättli, athlosoft has developed a software which transforms a Smartphone into an exercise machine for athletes. “Live tracking & real time telemetry” are only two components which athlosoft offers pros, but also sport amateurs in cycling and triathlon. The athletes, but also their friends and trainers, can follow and analyze every training session and competition on-line at anytime.
athlosoft was already granted the award „Microsoft.NET Swiss innovation Award in 2010 – Startup of the Year“ this year. The strategical management and marketing from athlosoft are in the hands of the German agency Thorsten Frahm Sporting.
With the use of the hardware and software of the Swiss company athlosoft numerous professionals can be followed at the tour de Suisse in 2010 on the internet not only in real-time, but also see the cadence, gear, speed, heart rate, altitude and calorie consumption on www.athlosoft.com/tds in a Google Earth animation. The data is also transmitted live to the Swiss television broadcast.
Among others, some cyclists of the “BMC Racing Team” are equipped with the athlosoft system. „In the morning we do install the hardware at the bikes, and after the stage we dismount them, forcleaning and reconfiguration if it’s necessary“, explains Hans Limacher from athlosoft who will accompany the tour de Suisse from the beginning. „We will start with the second stage from Ascona to Sierre“, says Limacher.
One week ago, athlosoft together with tri-mag.de celebrated a successful premiere in the triathlon sport at the Challenge Kraichgau. The data of numerous professionals and amateurs were available on-line. The web server registered 865,560 hits on the racing day, the length of exposure time for every user was 20 minutes.
