Follow the pros at the Tour de Suisse live with athlosoft / Data preparation for the Swiss television
With the use of the hardware and software of the Swiss company athlosoft numerous professionals can be followed at the tour de Suisse in 2010 on the internet not only in real-time, but also see the cadence, gear, speed, heart rate, altitude and calorie consumption on www.athlosoft.com/tds in a Google Earth animation. The data is also transmitted live to the Swiss television broadcast.
Among others, some cyclists of the “BMC Racing Team” are equipped with the athlosoft system. „In the morning we do install the hardware at the bikes, and after the stage we dismount them, forcleaning and reconfiguration if it’s necessary“, explains Hans Limacher from athlosoft who will accompany the tour de Suisse from the beginning. „We will start with the second stage from Ascona to Sierre“, says Limacher.
One week ago, athlosoft together with tri-mag.de celebrated a successful premiere in the triathlon sport at the Challenge Kraichgau. The data of numerous professionals and amateurs were available on-line. The web server registered 865,560 hits on the racing day, the length of exposure time for every user was 20 minutes.
Under the direction of Hans Limacher and Thomas Glättli, athlosoft has developed a software which transforms a Smartphone into an exercise machine for athletes. “Live tracking & real time telemetry” are only two components which athlosoft offers pros, but also sports amateurs in cycling and triathlon. The athletes, but also their friends and trainers, can follow and analyze every training session and competition on-line at anytime.
athlosoft was already granted the award „Microsoft.NET Swiss innovation Award in 2010 – Startup of the Year“ this year. The strategical management and marketing from athlosoft are in the hands of the German agency Thorsten Frahm Sporting.
